Belle’s Bubbles & Boobies 2020 a success
While continuing to raise awareness for breast cancer at our inaugural Belle’s Bubbles and Boobies event 2020, we collectively managed to raise $4049! Thank you to everyone that attended last Friday, it was such a beautiful day.
We heard from Kelly, a breast cancer survivor who told us her story, there was a virtual fashion show and a charity auction with some gorgeous prizes supplied from our amazing supporters.
Melinda Schneider sang three songs plus gave a talk about her new role as an Ambassador for the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program – RAMHP. RAMHP do the most inspiring work supporting country people on their mental health journeys. Melinda hopes to help reduce the stigma around mental ill-health and encourage people to seek help in rural communities.
One of the songs Melinda performed was her original track ‘Courageous’, which she has performed and recorded with Aussie icon Olivia Newton John. The song is about strength and determination – two key qualities needed for those going through breast cancer.
One of the best ways to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer is to be aware of the risk factors.
Read up on reducing your risk and ensure that you undertake regular screening test. Screening mammograms aim to find breast cancer early, when treatment is likely to be most successful. Women aged 40 and over are entitled to a free mammogram every two years through BreastScreen Australia, the national breast screening program. For those at increased risk yearly mammography may be offered and for those at very high risk breast MRI may be available outside of the Breastscreen program.

Thank you again for all of our honoured guests. I adore being involved in Belle’s Bubbles and Boobies each year - it is such a worthy cause and a big highlight of my year.
