Premium coastal property defying downturn
Luxury homes on the Central Coast are being snapped up by Sydneysiders despite current uncertainty surrounding the effect that the COVID-19 pandemic will have on the Australian property market. Belle Property’s Cathy Baker has recently negotiated a string of high-end sales, offloading $50.8 million in property in the past 62 days. With the majority of transactions being holiday houses, Ms Baker said that buyers are realizing the importance of spending quality time with friends and family.
“People are flocking to regional areas, my colleagues in places like the Blue Mountains are seeing the same thing,” she said. “There is also the fact that working from home is becoming a more viable option for workers, so naturally they are looking to find more affordable property in beautiful areas outside of the city.” A leading lifestyle property specialist on the Central Coast, Ms Baker sells luxury property all over the region from Wagstaffe to Killcare, Avoca Beach, Macmasters Beach and northern suburbs like Forresters Beach.
Continually setting benchmarks in the area, her expertise, confidence and contacts have elevated her to a level where clients are approaching her to sell their luxury retreats at premium prices. One of her recent sales included an off-market transaction that is the highest ever seen on the Central Coast. While the sale price is unable to be disclosed, it is the first time that a residential property has sold for a double million dollar figure in the region. Suburb records have been set by Ms Baker in both Forresters Beach and Macmasters Beach.
No. 65 Forresters Beach Rd was recently purchased for a price in excess of $5 million, beating the previous suburb record by almost a million dollars. A stunning zen retreat at 22 South Pacific Dr, Macmasters Beach is set to go unconditional tomorrow for $4.55 million. The architectural beauty is set in the bushland with a walking trail to the beach and despite the fact that records are traditionally set on the beachfront, this sale will beat the current record at 13A Tudibaring Pde by $50,000 according to CoreLogic. "I am working with highly qualified buyers who are still looking for homes to purchase," Ms Baker said. “I hope this shows that there is some good news out there at the moment and a light at the end of the tunnel for property owners.
