Love Local Live Local: Frankie Lifestyle

Terrigal’s Yasmin Starkey always dreamed about opening her own clothing store, so in 2016 she took the plunge, resigning from her job in sales and opening Frankie Lifestyle – a boutique clothing and lifestyle shop in the beautiful seaside suburb of Norah Head. Named in honour of her adorable Samoyed puppy Frankie, the store offers a new style of boutique shopping to the area, with a mix of both fashion and homewares handpicked by Yas, who said that she loves showcasing a great selection of much loved Australian brands.

“Assembly Label is a favourite Aussie label of mine, it's just such good quality and really suits the relaxed, coastal style of the store,” she said. “Superga sneakers are my every day shoe, they go with just about any outfit. Midsummer Star is another favourite Aussie label of mine, their jewellery is just so unique and beautiful.” It has been a whirlwind for go-getter Yas, who since opening the store has had a baby girl, survived COVID-19 and is almost due with her second child, a little boy.

“Covid was tough, I made the decision to close the shop for a short time until restrictions eased up a bit, especially being pregnant, I felt like it was the right decision,” she said. “But I enjoyed focusing on my online store and personally delivering to customers via contactless delivery, all over the coast.” Yasmin grew up on the northern end of the Central Coast and said the Norah Head was a real hidden gem.
