Love Local Live Local: Box2Bub

Long Jetty’s Lauren O’Hara said that her business, Box2Bub, was inspired by her love of creativity and experience becoming a first time mum. Starting off as a little side hustle that involved creating baby gift boxes, Loz’s business has evolved into an online store that offers a wide range of sustainable and eco-friendly products. “I love working at the Shelly Beach markets because I can talk to other mums about my products, which I am so proud of,” she said. “I’m a beautician and aromatherapist as well as a childcare worker, so this business really works with my experience. I just love being creative, crafting with kids is something that I’ve always enjoyed, I really just find it to be a lot of fun.”

Setting up her own website and logo with the help of local designer Gabi from Billie Designs, Loz’s inspiration comes from her gorgeous seven month old daughter Leileah, who is her little model for the website and social media posts. Box2Bub products are handpicked or handmade with effort made to support small local businesses as much as possible. Creating beautiful items like bath salts, locally sourced lactation tea and essential oil blends, Loz’s aim is to ensure a simple and personalised gift for new mums, being one herself.

Other gorgeous items include candles, handmade plaques, calming sprays, handmade bow headbands, muslin swaddles, loofah bags and dummies. Loz even branches out from the baby theme sometimes – this weekend she will be selling ‘Box2Dad’ gift boxes at the Shelly Beach Market for Fathers Day. The boxes will include items like man oil, soap, hand painted coasters, hand designed cards and man salts. “People love this sort of stuff for fathers day, just something thoughtful for dad’s who already have everything,” she laughed. The Shelly Beach Market is on this Saturday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Long Jetty Foreshore Reserve, 103A Tuggerah Parade, Long Jetty NSW 2261, Australia and they are held monthly.
